The Stripper at ASR
Good news kids, The Bossman was invited by the fine folks at Bones Wheels to participate in the first ever Powell Ripper Tribute Show to be hung at this year’s ASR in September. Lot’s of famous and infamous art and skate types (Stevie Cab, Lance Mountain, Bratrud, etc) are slated to tip their hat to early Powell-Peralta illustrator Vernon Courtlandt Johnson. It was and honor to be asked and I’m stoked to have delivered a goodern’.
Not many dads are happy to send their Stripper daughter off to California, but that’s exactly what I did. Dressed in her Sunday finery, this is one cutie worthy of the honor. She’ll tear her way into your heart and leave you in stitches. Reproductions of the Stripper are available on archival paper or as fully stretched and ready to hang canvases. The piece sent to California was a eye popping 22″x 22″ digital print with archival ink and canvas and a full gallery wrap. It was printed beautifully by the magic print elves at Hampton House Gallery (WWW.HAMPTON HOUSE.NET). You can have a Stripper daughter of your own too, so contact us directly for more information on print types and prices.
In a final note, I’d like to personally thank VCJ for the mind blowing inspiration he supplied to me and countless others. Powell is a brand, but VCJ’s images have transcended retail and to this day remain the most powerful images in skateboard art.
